No one wants to wade into dark waters. But someone has to. It was Rob Bilott who spent 16 years fighting DuPunt, a titan of chemical industry churning out PFOA, to safeguard the interests of people whose precarious health was attributable to said hazardous substance in drinking water and the Teflon flu. It's a reflection and a reminder of the dark history.
"American business is better than this, gentlemem. And when it's not, we should hold them to it. That's how you build faith in the system. We're always arguing that companies are people. Well these people have crossed the line!"
最後那個line:They are not gonna fight for us; we fight for ourselves.
Companies are not protecting us, government is not protecting us, WE are protecting us.
「You are still here」 「the system doesn』t protect us, we protect us」 想做一件對的事需要多大的代價 承受多少孤獨 但是意義真的很重大 最後的99%還是讓人毛骨悚然 有一個小小的不太重要的細節很感動 sarah在說rob小時候搬了很多次家 after you and I come along we became home, 這一點還真是意外的感同身受
