For Led Zeppelin fanatics, this 1976 feature The Song Remains the Same is a treasure of searing live performances, particularly welcome in light of the sad scarcity of such visual material from the band's great decade. Despite the group's road weariness after a long tour, their final, three-night stand at Madison Square Garden in 1973 was full of the old power. Performances of "No Quarter," "Whole Lotta Love," "Black Dog," "Dazed and Confused," and "Stairway to Heaven" underscore Zep's charisma. Trouble is, you don't get an unbroken performance here. Viewers have to wade through a mishmash of documentary insight into the lives of Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Bonham, and John Paul Jones, as well as fantasy sequences supposedly inspired by the thoughts and fantasies of the band's individual members. It's mostly garish and silly, but there are some nice elements, especially insights into the late Bonham's life. The DVD doesn't offer much in the way of add-ons (a theatrical trailer is about it), but there is also enhanced viewing for 16 x 9 televisions. --Tom Keogh

從上個世紀六十年代走來的重金屬音樂，時至今日，已經以它的「狂噪」吸引了無數瘋狂的歌迷，在音樂的聖殿裡，他似乎不僅僅給人聽覺上的震撼，他其實是一部機器，一部輕易能夠摧殘建築的機器，然而斷壁殘垣，滿目滄痍並不是他們的目的，他們更擅長是在廢墟上樹立一種超脫的精神。
第一支金屬樂隊當屬Led Zeppelin，不管他們承認與否，它都是世界公認的重金屬先軀及代言人。
吉他手Jimny Page、歌手Robert Plant、貝斯手兼鍵盤手John Paul Jones以及鼓手John Bonban在樂隊組成之前就是非常好的樂手及歌手了。樂隊的前身為「庭院鳥樂隊」，1968年10月正式更名為「Led Zeppelin」，樂隊於1969年發行的專輯《LED ZEPPELIN II》被譽為重金屬搖滾樂的奠基之作。
1971年《LED ZEPPELIN IV》專輯推出，其中一首《天堂的階梯》倍受青睞。靜溢清晰的民謠箱琴漸入主唱憂鬱的傾訴，即而，在飛速宣洩的吉他Solo聲中，爆裂的金屬樂淹沒了整個樂曲，使人們的聽覺和感覺在短短的幾分鐘內有了一個極大的反差。這首重金屬的傳世之作，在此後的許多年中，一直被視為金屬迷的鐘愛。
1980年，樂隊在西柏林舉行了最後一場演出，同年9月，Bonban因酒精中毒死於自己房間內。12月，Led Zeppelin樂隊宣布解散。

在整個搖滾樂的歷史上，優秀的吉他手層出不窮，但能夠成為王中王的只有4個人，他們就是至尊無上的吉米 亨德里克斯（Jimi Hendrix）、吉他之神埃里克 克萊普頓（Eric Clapton）、The Who樂隊的吉它手彼得湯顯德（Pete Townshend）和眾多吉他英雄心目中的偶像 重金屬之父Led Zeppelin樂隊的靈魂人物吉米 佩奇（Jimmy Page）。
記得幾年前，熱愛搖滾樂的我最常聽的專輯就是《LED ZEPPELIN IV》，其中一曲Stairway to Heaven更是心中至愛。這首70年代的搖滾聖歌，在Jimmy Page的演繹下成為永世不朽的經典。他以清亮悠揚的分解和弦作為開場，若有若無地引導着旋律的進行，至高潮部分，失真效果拔地而起，氣勢滂薄直衝九霄卻毫無盛氣凌人之感，那至剛至強的和弦所流露出的激情與創意，讓人一聽之下立時為之絕倒! 一如上帝的降臨,所表現的那種完美難以用言語形容! So Wonderful! …….
《GUITARIST》雜誌在98年1月由讀者選出了史上最佳的100段吉他SOLO，Jimmy Page有三首入榜分別是SINCE I』VE BEEN LOVING YOU、STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN和WHOLE LOTTA LOVE。
