4.5. Wild, merciless, and stunning. When rifles became toys, civilisation faded away, values and moralities were stripped off, what is left of humanity? In Monos we see how the savage, animalistic nature is unleashed in a group of teenage children when what we know as society is absent from their experiences. What's paradoxical here is, they are totally left alone and free from any societal rules, yet the existence of authority is so inviolable to the extent that they would kill themselves and kill each others for failing to fulfil a given duty (one authority figure gone another will step in). Thus the vastness of mountains and jungles turns into a cage where humanity is desperate to escape.
